The Microscopy and Nanofabrication Core combines services and equipment made available by the Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis Facility (EMMF) and the Davidson Foundation Cleanroom (DFC) at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The EMMF offers a wide range of services, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), and can analyze a wide variety of samples including metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. Microscopes available can accomodate resolutions down to the nanometer level, and we can provide detailed information about the structure and chemical composition of your sample.
The Davidson Foundation Cleanroom (DFC) at the University of Nevada, Reno is the first multiuser nanofabrication facility in Nevada. The DFC was constructed in 2020 and opened in 2025.
